Welcome to Tea of Therapy Directory Terms & Conditions.

All counsellors and therapists at TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY go through an enhanced registration process. Please note that all information about the counsellors/ therapist has been exclusively provided by themselves. If you have any questions regarding their profile, please contact them.

Qualifications:

We recommend a completion of a Diploma level (or higher) qualification – or a course involving at least 400 hours of classroom-based tuition – before counsellors enter practice.
We must have certificate information uploaded on to your profile before you can advertise with us.

Insurance:

All our counsellors and therapist are self-employed. They all will have the correct liability insurance in place before practicing. All information we receive is given to us by the counsellor or therapist. We want to encourage you to check that this information is up to date.

Professional Body:

Being a member professional body shows that a counsellor/therapist has met the organisation’s criteria in terms of training or experience and means that they adhere to the organisation’s code of ethics and conduct. Counsellors and therapist are obliged to provide us with evidence of professional body membership prior to approving their profile.

Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend a counselling session, please contact your counsellor or therapist directly. The counsellor/ therapist will outline in the contractual agreement what should take place if they cannot attend. If a counsellor chooses to charge for cancellations that is at their discretion. TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY is not liable for this.

Payment:

All counsellors will outline the cost per session or for block sessions if they offer it. Please adhere to their terms and how they would like payment to be made. TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY will not be receiving payment on behalf of the counsellors or therapist. Once again in your contractual agreement with the counsellor/ therapist they will outline the payment terms.

Confidentiality:

Referrals and counselling sessions are confidential. The only people who have access to your information are your counsellor. The only time we will break confidentiality is if your child tells us they have harmed themselves or someone else. In this case, we may contact your GP or emergency services to keep your child safe. We will discuss this with you before we do so. Your counsellor will take brief and concise session notes this will not be inputted on to our TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY system. They will keep their notes private and confidential.

Ethics:

TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework guidelines, and each practitioner additionally practices according to the ethical principles of their own training organisation. TEA OF THERAPY DIRECTORY does not and shall not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

Our Liability 

The counsellor/ therapist listed on our directory has their own individual set of terms and conditions, any therapeutic contract will be formed between you and your chosen therapist.
Tea of Therapy Directory provides administrative services only, we help to connect you with clients and services. Tea of Therapy Directory will not accept liability for any loss or damage resulting from contact or work with the therapist. Any complaint against the therapist should be raised with the therapist in the first instance and, if necessary, escalated to their respective member organization.

Our Site:

We may update our website on a frequent basis, this can include the layout, content and information provided to benefit our users. However, please note that if any of the content on our is not up to date we are under no obligation to update it. We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will be free from errors or omissions.
Access to our site is made available free of charge, we cannot guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Access to our site is permitted on a temporary basis. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue, or change all or any part of our site without notice. We will not be liable to you if for any reason our site is unavailable at any time or for any period except in relation to pre-arranged online psychotherapy services. Under these circumstances, we will support you with further assistance.  Only you are responsible for making necessary arrangements for you to have access to our site. It is also your responsibility to ensure that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms of use and that they comply with them.

Whenever you make use of a feature that allows you to upload content to our site, any content you upload to our site will be considered non-confidential and we have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties for the content purposes. We also have the right to share/disclose information you’ve listed to. We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content posted by you or any other user of our site. We have the right to remove any posting you make on our site if, in our opinion, your post does not comply with the content standards set out in our acceptable Use Policy. The views expressed by contributors on our site do not necessarily represent our views or values.
You may link to our site, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. Our site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of our site other than the home page. We reserve the full right to withdraw linking permission without notice. The website in which you are linking must always comply in all respects with the content standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy. If you wish to make any use of the content on our site other than that set out above, please contact us in the first instance.

Suspension and termination 

Failure to comply with this acceptable use policy constitutes a material breach of the Terms of use upon which you are permitted to use our site, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:

  • Immediate, temporary, or permanent withdrawal of your right to use our site.
  • Immediate, temporary, or permanent removal of any posting or material uploaded by you to our site.
  • Warning issued / legal action taken if needed
  • Legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.

Prohibited uses

You may use our site only for lawful purposes.  You may not use our site:

  • In any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
  • For harming or attempting to harm minors in any way.
  • To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards, as more particularly set out below
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
  • To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
